The only EPL champions from the last 8 straight seasons face off against each other to determine who's rightfully 2nd place in the league.
Tottenham Hotspurs vs Manchester United preview
Tottenham vs United is always a classic, and there's still a chance for either of these teams to take 3rd place by the end of the weekend (although not likely with Sunderland and Bournemouth in the way). The Hotspurs (+165) look to turn around their embarrassing 1-1-3 record at home after 5 games played at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium earning just 4 points. However, Micky van de Ven continues to be a goal scoring threat even from center back with 3 goals in the league so far, with Richarlison hungry to add to his own current 3 goal tally. The Spurs return to the EPL from Champions League after defeating Copenhagen 4-0, with goals stemming from Brennan Johnson (19'), Wilson Odobert (51'), Van de Ven (64'), and Joao Palhinha (67').
Manchester United have rested over the week since their last 2-2 draw to Nottingham forest on November 1. United's Casemiro opened the goal scoring in the 34' while Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White equalized in the 48' at the start of the 2nd half. Forest took the lead on home soil with a 50' poached goal from Nicolo Savona, while United's Diallo capitalized in the 80' for a draw. The Red devils didn't quite dominate the game as both teams saw 15 shots, although they retained the ball for 59% possession to take home 1 point. Tomorrow morning will be a different test for United (+155) as the Spurs continue to be soft at home.
Manchester City vs Liverpool preview
It doesn't get much better than this in the Premier League, as the 7x champions in the last 8 years take on the only other team to win the English title in 2019-2020, Liverpool. City holds 2nd place with 19 points after their 3-1 win over Bournemouth most recently, while Liverpool trails right behind in 3rd with 18 after their losing spell. City are -110 favorites this Sunday, with the squad coming back from a convincing 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday. Phil Foden netted a brace by the 57', while Erling Haaland struck in the 29'. Dortmund's Waldemar Anton brought the deficit down to 2 with his 72' finish, although City's Ryan Cherki finished the German side off with a 90+1' goal.
Liverpool (+265) will want to restart their pursuit of a 1st place finish in the league, and to do so, they'll need a win over their Sky Blue rivals this weekend. The Reds are on a 2 game winning streak after downing Aston Villa in the EPL before righteously defending their honor at home against Real Madrid in a 1-0 result in the Champions League on Tuesday. Alexis Mac Allister headed home the only goal in the game in the 61'as the Reds created 15 shots with 10 on target even being out possessed 43%-57% by the Royal Whites.
As always, expect more drama this weekend as we finish nearly a third of the Premier League season, and be sure to stay tuned for more news on upcoming matches.
