La Liga standings settle after week 11 with Real Madrid on top.
Real Madrid CF
The Royal Whites propelled themselves with a perfect start to the month of November with a crushing 4-0 win over Valencia on the 1st. Kylian Mbappe struck a brace with a 19' penalty and 31' follow up to extend his lead to 13 goals in the race for the Spanish League Golden Boot. Vinicius Junior would've liked to tuck away his own penalty, but Valencia goalkeeper Agirrezabala kept it out to minimize the damage. Jude Bellingham is also coming back into form with his 2nd goal in 2 games, while Alvaro Carreras sealed the deal with a far post cracker into the top corner.
The Royals white continue their crusade of 1st place in La Liga as they finish the week with 30 points, a 5-point lead over Spanish Champions of Barcelona. They'll head to Anfield this Tuesday to take on Liverpool in the Champions League.
Atletico Madrid
Atletico progress undefeated in La Liga this year since their season opener loss against Espanyol. This week, they edged out Sevilla with a 3-0 at the Metropolitano despite being out possessed 55% to 45% with Julian Alvarez, Thiago Almada, and Antoine Griezmann all finding 2nd half goals to run away with a clean sheet victory.
Los Colchoneros will rally for this Tuesday's Champions League fixture against Union Saint-Gilloise in the hopes of going 2-2 on their record with 6 points.
FC Barcelona
Barcelona were shaken from their 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the El Clasico last Sunday October 26, which saw them drop 5 points behind their rivals in contention for the La Liga title. However, they concluded today's match 3-1 after starting strong with an early 2-0 lead, with goals coming from Lamine Yamal in the 9' and Ferran Torres in the 12'. Marcus Rashford netted his 2nd goal of this season for La Liga in the 61' along with his 4th assist to put the game to bed.
The Catalans will take on Club Brugge this Wednesday at the Jan Breydel Stadium with the hopes of seeing out their 3rd comfortable win in the UEFA Champions League this year.
