Liverpool revive their spirits with a 4-goal margin win in UEFA Champions League

While Liverpool ended Premier League match week 8 with a spirit crushing 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield, the Reds were hardly affected for this weeks crucial Champions League matchup against Eintracht Frankfurt


After suffering 4 consecutive losses in all competitions for the first time since February 2021, the Reds pulled off a characteristic 5-1 crushing of Bundesliga's 7th place Eintracht Frankfurt this Wednesday.


Five separate goal scorers hit the back of the net for Liverpool in a timely manner, after an unexpected 26' opener from Rasmus Kristensen. The Die Adler expected to push on with a confident 1-0 lead, however, just 9 minutes later, Hugo Ekitike would secure his 1st ever Champions League goal for Liverpool. The flood gates were opened, as Virgil Van Dyke (39'), Ibrahima Konate (44'), Cody Gakpo (66'), and Dominik Szoboszlai (70') proceeded fill Frankfurt's goal with 5 unanswered.


Liverpool had a dominant set piece game, with 10 corners, and the Reds fired off 17 shots, 14 on target, with 64% possession to take the win.


Liverpool will now take on 13th place Brentford in the Premier League this Saturday, with the hopes of getting back on track to chase their rightful 1st place spot.
